Amesville is a village located in Athens County, Ohio, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 184. The village was founded in 1833 and named for its founder, Daniel Ames. Amesville is located on State Route 550, about halfway between Athens and Marietta. The village has a post office with zip code 45711. Amesville is known for its rural setting and historic architecture, with many buildings in the village dating back to the 1800s. It is also home to the Whipple-Run State Nature Preserve, which is a popular destination for hiking and birdwatching.
